FreightCircle Safety Guide
FreightCircle connects freight professionals, but it's up to you to verify who you're working with. These tips will help you stay safe and protect your business.
Verify Phone Numbers Independently
Always look up a company's phone number from a trusted source — FMCSA SAFER, the company's official website, or a state registry. Never rely solely on the number someone gives you.
Confirm Identity Before Trusting a Load
Call the company directly and ask for the person by name. If they've never heard of them, that's a red flag. A legitimate dispatcher or carrier will be on file.
Meet in Public for First-Time Handoffs
When meeting a new contact for the first time — whether for a load pickup, paperwork, or a face-to-face — choose a well-lit, public location like a truck stop or weigh station.
Trust But Verify
A good reputation on FreightCircle is a signal, not a guarantee. Verified FMCSA numbers confirm the authority exists, but they don't confirm that a specific person works at that company.
Watch for Common Fraud Patterns
Be wary of anyone pressuring you to act fast, requesting upfront payments, offering rates far above market, or unwilling to provide verifiable company information.
Report Suspicious Activity Immediately
If something feels off, report it. Contact FreightCircle support and file a report with the FMCSA or local law enforcement. Your report can protect the entire community.
